Day 39- Balancing Your Life (Watching Your Step) by Sonia Ortiz

Live life with a sense of responsibility…. Ephesians 5:15

It takes time and effort to develop balance in life.

As we walk we need to watch where we step so we don’t fall or slip and loose our balance.

The balance in our everyday life is very important to evaluate how good or how bad we are doing so that way we can restore and strengthen our weakest areas in our life. 

In the spiritual side it is the same, we need to take care of our walk with the Lord, so we can stay in God’s will.

As Christians we should not lack the spiritual balance to measure our walk. 

Are we walking right?

We should be capable to of looking back into our past with a self examinating attitude, looking at  the good and the bad in our lives.

Looking back into my life, when I first started I was just a young woman without experience in my marriage and in ministry.  The responsibility made me have balance in my life and now is not just about my husband and our family; it’s about our family in Victory Outreach.  It hasn’t been easy to keep the balance throughout the years. 

Sister Julie has been a great example in my life, a woman of a great responsibility within the ministry. When she shares her heart she expresses how she gives quality time to her husband, children and grandkids without losing the focus in ministry. She has been able to keep a balance in the ministry and with her family.

How to do it? 

Examine ourselves through the word of God.

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.”

2 Corinthians 13:5

What can we examine in our lives?,

 Three areas:

  1. Spiritual
  2. Physical
  3.  Emotional

1)      Spiritual:

a)      Praying

b)      Fasting

c)      Reading the bible

d)      Surpassing Sin and bad habits

2)      Physical:

Taking care of our body to live a longer healthier life.  How is your body? Is it strong and ready to run with the projects that God has given you? 

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.”  1 Corinthians 6:19

3)      Emotional:

The people live 10% in the spirit, 20% in the flesh, and 70% in the soul.  The emotions are held in the soul, and as women we are more emotional than man, with more reason we need to have balance in our life.   David would remind his soul, not to forget the benefits of his God.  We are guide by the emotions and tend to forget the word of God and his promises. 

“Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Psalm 103:1.

Talking about examining our lives, we realize how important it is that God dominates all the areas in our lives, and this way we can take secure steps into our future.
